In the JD Sports Australia range of adidas shoes, clothing, and accessories, you’ll find all the latest drops from the three-stripes company. These include popular sneaker collections like the Samba and Gazelle, two mainstays of the heritage-inspired Originals line. For a more casual aesthetic, we also offer a wide selection of slides, providing all the comfort and flexibility needed to relax, whether you’re indoors or on the beach.
Once you’ve found a fresh pair of kicks, the next logical step is to update your wardrobe. Fortunately, we have plenty of options in the clothing department, from tracksuit sets (featuring track pants and T-shirts) to summer-ready shorts. The general style of each item varies, but what they all have in common is that signature adidas feel, complete with one of two logos (the three stripes or the trefoil).
A Brief Introduction to adidas
The adidas brand finds its roots in 1924, when Adolf ‘Adi’ Dassler, an entrepreneur from Germany, set about providing athletes with top-quality gear, with much of his focus on spiked running shoes. During this time, the company, which he operated alongside his brother Rudolf, was known as ‘Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory.’ The brothers would eventually part ways, establishing an intense rivalry that helped to propel the development of the sportswear industry.
It was in 1936 that the Dassler Brothers Shoe Factory truly began to cultivate a large following, with runner Jesse Owens wearing a pair of shoes given to him by the brothers during the Olympics in Berlin. Once established as a separate entity, adidas further solidified its positive reputation, particularly throughout the 1950s, during which time professional soccer players could be seen wearing three-stripes boots on the pitch.
Today, adidas is recognised as one of the biggest sportswear manufacturers, continuing to drive interest with its timeless collection of shoes, clothing, and accessories. Among the brand’s products are slides like the Adilette and retro sneakers like the Handball Spezial and Superstar, which frequently receive new colourways and modern updates to stay fresh and functional.
