In the JD Sports Australia range of adidas shoes, clothing, and accessories, you’ll find all the latest drops from the 3-Stripes brand. These include popular sneaker collections such as the Samba and Gazelle, two mainstays of the heritage-inspired Originals line. For a more casual aesthetic, we also have a wide selection of slides, which provide all the comfort and flexibility needed to relax indoors and on the beach.
Once you’ve found a fresh pair of kicks, the next logical step is to update your wardrobe. Fortunately, we’ve got plenty of options in the clothes department, from tracksuit sets (featuring track pants and T-shirts) to summer-ready shorts. The general style of each item varies, but what they all have in common is that signature adidas feel, complete with one of two logos (the 3-Stripes or the Originals Trefoil).
A Brief History of adidas
The adidas brand finds its roots in 1924, when Adolf ‘Adi’ Dassler, an entrepreneur from Germany, set about providing athletes with gold-standard equipment. Today, the company is recognised as one of the biggest sportswear manufacturers, continuing to drive interest with its timeless collection of shoes and clothing.
It was in 1936 that adidas truly started to cultivate a large following, with runner Jesse Owens wearing a pair of shoes given to him by Dassler in the Olympics taking place in Berlin. The brand’s positive reputation was further cemented throughout the ’50s, during which time professional soccer players could be seen wearing 3-Stripes boots on the pitch.
