When Was Under Armour Founded?
Under Armour (founded by football team captain Kevin Plank) originally appeared in 1996, beginning its mission to increase the performance of athletes with high-quality sportswear. The company’s first product was ‘The Shorty,’ a compression T-shirt with sweat-wicking properties. As these items of clothing started to generate hype, with members of notable football teams giving positive feedback, the UA brand expanded its operations. Today, its product line-up consists of clothes, shoes, and accessories, and people of all varieties, not just athletes and gymgoers, wear UA gear as part of their regular outfits.
