The Crocs Classic Clog is a favourite of many footwear fans, providing a level of comfort that’s hard to find among the product selections of other brands. It’s for this reason that we stock the legendary shoe in a variety of different colours and styles, available in sizes for kids and adults. Be aware: once you’ve dipped a toe into the JD Sports Australia Classic Clog collection, you may find yourself unwilling to wear anything else!
Why Is the Crocs Classic Clog So Popular?
Since arriving on the scene in the early 2000s, the Crocs Classic Clog has become a go-to choice for those looking for casual footwear. Aided by the brand’s signature Croslite, the shoe has lots of unique benefits. It is, of course, undeniably comfy, with a convenient heel strap to ensure the wearer’s feet are locked in. Furthermore, its waterproof material alongside strategically placed ventilation openings mean that it’s well suited to different environments, whether that’s the poolside or the rainy outdoors.
For many, the Classic Clog is simply a convenient, no-nonsense choice of footwear, ideal for times when you’re trying to relax or go about daily tasks. It’s lightweight and non-restrictive, and if that weren’t enough, it also has an element of personalisation that you won’t find with more traditional sneakers and slides. The holes on the top can be used to attach Jibbitz Charms (colourful accessories that come in many shapes and sizes).
How Was the Crocs Classic Clog Created?
The idea for the Crocs Classic Clog came from boating shoes, explaining the collection’s uniqueness and practicality. Prior to its invention, the founders of the brand— Scott Seamans, Lyndon Hanson, and George Boedecker Jr—were exploring the Caribbean, during which they took note of an interesting type of footwear by Foam Creations. The trio were particularly interested in the material from which the shoes were made, a lightweight material with waterproofing properties, known as Croslite. This curiosity was enough to inspire them to purchase the rights to use Croslite, and not long after, the Crocs brand (and the Classic Clog) was born.
